EXPERIMENT 4 : Pneumatic Circuit Design (Cascade)


1.0 LEARNING OUTCOMES:

At the end of this experiment, the student should be able to;

1.1 Understand pneumatic cascade circuit,
1.2 Assemble a simple pneumatic cascade circuit

2.0 EQUIPMENT / APPARATUS :

2.1 Double acting cylinder
2.2 Dcv 3/2 with push button and spring return (as switch)
2.3 Pneumatic hose
2.4 Dcv 5/2 with double pneumatic pilot and manual override
2.5 T joint

3.0 SAFETY AND HEALTH :

3.1 All pneumatic hose must be fit properly
3.2 Pressure do not exceed 6 bar

4.0 THEORY

Cascade circuit is different from pure pneumatic circuit, air line source and memory valve are use in cascade circuit. Number of memory valve is based is 1 less then number of air source line.

2 air source line = 1 memory valve
3 air source line = 2 memory valve
4 air source line = 3 memory valve
